Queer and Sober describes itself this way:

Our mission is simple – to provide a safe, fun, and enriching experience to the sober LGBT community during Gay Pride weekend and other events throughout the year.

Our primary purpose is to encourage unity in the fellowships and enhance one’s sobriety. In the spirit of unity we come together to support and love one another and to show others – especially beginners – that it is indeed possible to have a really great time – while remaining sober.

Our vision is to host exceptional events that not only capture the imagination but will inspire others to live life, have fun, and be happy, joyous, and free.

We foster an environment for fellowship, spiritual growth, education, and sobriety support through organizing and hosting 12-Step meetings, conducting health, wellness, and recovery-related workshops, programs, and activities.

I no longer work at Dawn Farm and am now the Director of Behavioral Medicine at a community hospital, and a lecturer at Eastern Michigan University’s School of Social Work.
